REACHOUT - user-oriented climate services

REACHOUT is a European Commission funded research and innovation project that supports the EU Green Deal by advancing user-oriented climate services. NGI is one of ten research partners from around Europe that are working together with seven European city hubs to demonstrate next level climate services.

The R&D program SABICAS aims at including Nature-based Solutions (NBS) in the management of catchment areas, to contribute to climate adaptation, ensure biodiversity, better quality and other benefits for the people who use the rivers.

Seagreen - foundation installation for the world's deepest offshore wind farm

Huge buckets, silently sucked into the seabed with the opening down, keep the wind turbines on the Seagreen field off the east coast of Scotland in place on the seabed. Together with FRAMO, NGI had the task of installing the bucket foundations on the 114 jacket substructures for the wind turbines.

FI BLUES - new types of floating structures

SFI BLUES is a research-based innovation centre to enable Norwegian industry to create new types of floating structures which satisfy the needs and requirements from renewable energy, aquaculture and coastal infrastructure.

SHARP - increase the accuracy of subsurface CO2 storage

SHARP Storage is a research project funded under the ERA-NET ACT (see link under picture) programme coordinated by The Research Council of Norway. The overall aim of SHARP Storage is to increase the accuracy of subsurface CO2 storage containment risk management through the improvement and integration of subsurface stress models, rock mechanical failure and seismicity observations.

Tsunami map for Lake Vangsmjøse

On behalf of NVE, NGI has prepared tsunami maps to reveal which areas around Lake Vangsmjøse could be affected if a significant landslide were to occur from Skutshorn in Vang municipality.

Zero Pollution of Persistent, Mobile Substances. ZeroPM is a research project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme that will run from October 2021 to October 2026.

3D modelling of rock slope

To make room for a new double track on the Vestfold line, a steep rock slope close to the existing rail line must be adjusted by blasting. NGI has made a 3D rock model of the rock slope.

EarthresQue - technologies for sustainable treatment of waste

EarthresQue is a Center for Research-Driven Innovation (SFI) that develops technologies and systems for sustainable management and treatment of waste and surplus masses. The center is led by NMBU and NGI has a central role in the research that is done.
