WP4 Co-Evaluate
WP4 will assess user satisfaction with the climate services in the Living Labs by providing feedback from a variety of stakeholders involved in the project.
Engaged communities, user experiences and added value of user satisfaction. Participatory approaches to planning for climate adaptation require communicating different types of information to and between diverse stakeholders.
An understanding of complex and interdependent systems, potential future impacts of climate change and the implications of possible measures must be shared by participants if informed discourse and decisions are to be carried out.
In urban planning there are many examples of the breakdown between participatory processes and scientific content in decision making. Recent research suggests that a lack of understanding by urban planners about the risks of climate change is a leading barrier to planning for it.
Thus, incorporating evaluation in the process to assess user satisfaction provides feedback to bridge the process-content gap. These evaluation platforms support participatory processes and decision making about climate adaptation. Continuous evaluation after each step of the framework will improve user satisfaction with climate services and ultimately help build engaged communities.
Objectives
- To evaluate the Living Labs user experience
- To assess the satisfaction of the users with the use of climate services
- To integrate the feedback into adaptive management strategies that support engaged citizens and communities
Activities
Activities include:
- Applied Research - developing the questionnaires and capacity building material
- Demonstration - executing the evaluation workshops for feedback to WP1, WP2 and WP3
- Task 4.1 Develop questionnaires to be used at all case study sites, evaluating each step in the feedback-loop (Co-Design, Co-Develop and Co-Validate).
- Task 4.2 Provide feedback from questionnaires to all workshops at ongoing field trails
- Task 4.3 Execution of workshop to specifically address climate services and assess user satisfaction
- Task 4.4 Development of capacity building material for engaging citizens
